Parker 100- Modern interpretation of classic element
One thing that distinguish this pen from Parker’s traditional vintage design is its modern design. The body of the pen is in a pearl escent finish, but the cap is using metal. Its color combination make this pen so different from the 51 or any other vintage. The arrow clip allows you to look at the Parker arrow in a totally different perspective. Even though lots of modern elements were added to this pen, the classic hooded nib design is a great crossover between the modern and tradition.
It is a Medium pen, but it will usually writer bigger than your Lamy because Mediums from Parker are usually broader. Also, you will find a Parker 100 writing wetter than other fountain pens such as 51. The nib is no doubt very smooth, but its stiffness may be a problem if what you want is a pen more than a smooth nail. I don’t think it is a right pen for those who are pursuing expressiveness.
It will usually costs you $300 to grab a genuine Parker 100 home. However, if you are carefully picking the sellers on Ebay, it is not uncommon to buy this pen at $100 plus shipping. I’ve never been any less than delighted purchasing on Ebay, but make sure you read the seller’s ratings careful before you make a purchase, that will lower your risk of getting a fake pen.
If you enjoy its comtemporary sytle, this is a pen you should definitely consider buying. You won’t be disapponited once you experienced how smooth its nib is.
Description:
This pen possessed an excellent combination of style and sharp with a 14k gold plated cap and 23k gold trim. The fountain pen speaks to us from the past with modern inflections by incorporating the solid 18k gold hooded nib that made Parker famous, fitted with a twin-channeled ink feed and collector system.
